Creating Your First Gallery

This guide walks you through creating a beautiful, professional gallery for your client.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • Edited and exported your photos (JPEG or PNG)
  • Added your client to PhotoProOS
  • Completed your branding setup

Step 1: Start a New Gallery

  1. Click Galleries in the sidebar
  2. Click the "New Gallery" button
  3. You'll see the gallery creation form

Step 2: Gallery Details

Fill in the gallery information:

  • Gallery Name - Something descriptive like "Smith Wedding - Reception"
  • Client - Select from your client list
  • Description - Optional note that appears on the gallery page

Step 3: Upload Your Photos

Drag and Drop

The easiest method:

  1. Open your photos folder on your computer
  2. Select the photos you want to upload
  3. Drag them onto the upload area

Click to Browse

Alternatively:

  1. Click the "Browse Files" button
  2. Navigate to your photos
  3. Select multiple files (Cmd/Ctrl + click)
  4. Click "Open"

Upload Progress

You'll see:

  • Individual file progress bars
  • Overall upload status
  • Any failed uploads (with retry option)

Step 4: Set Pricing

Choose how clients access the gallery:

Free Gallery

  • Clients can view and download immediately
  • Great for included services or proofs

Paid Gallery

  • Set a price to unlock downloads
  • Client pays via Stripe checkout
  • Photos available after payment

Step 5: Review and Create

Before publishing:

  1. Review your gallery details
  2. Check the photo count
  3. Preview how it will look
  4. Click "Create Gallery"

After Creation

Your gallery is now in Draft status. You can:

  • Add or remove photos
  • Reorder images
  • Edit settings
  • Delete and start over

Publishing

When you're ready to share:

  1. Click "Publish Gallery"
  2. Choose your notification preference
  3. Copy the share link or send directly

Tips for Great Galleries

  • Curate carefully - Quality over quantity
  • Order matters - Put your best shots first
  • Name thoughtfully - Clients see the gallery name
  • Test before sharing - Open the client view yourself
